President Trump Welcomes Families of Attacked Military Soldiers to the White House

President Donald Trump revealed on Sunday that he has invited the relatives of a National Guard member fatally shot last week to visit the executive mansion.

He added that he spoke to her parents and they were “devastated”.

Background on the Devastating Incident

Soldier Sarah Beckstrom, 20, was lost her life in a attack on last Wednesday in DC.

Her comrade, US air force staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, twenty-four years old, is still in the hospital in serious condition.

Gatherings across the state have occurred in their remembrance.

White House Offer

The commander-in-chief said he’s discussed a visit to the White House for the loved ones of both members of the state National Guard.

“I said: ‘When you’re able, because that’s a hard experience, arrive at the White House. We’re going to honor Sarah,” the president informed reporters. “And in the same way with Andrew, recover or not.”

Public Support

Community members assembled over the past few days at a local school in West Virginia to honor Beckstrom.

Both she and Wolfe had been serving with the state guard as part of Trump’s government program to assist public safety in DC.

Paying Tribute to Sarah Beckstrom

“She was the type of pupil that educators wished for. She carried herself with quiet strength, a contagious smile and a upbeat demeanor that lifted people around her,” Hankins, the principal of her former high school, informed the media. “She was sweet, compassionate and always willing to assist people.”

Memorial details for Sarah are in the process of planning.

Legal Steps and Government Revisions

Law enforcement have indicted a twenty-nine-year-old individual from Afghanistan with a charge of homicide and two counts of assault with intent to kill while armed.

The tragedy prompted the Trump administration to pause asylum processing and halt granting visas to owners of passports from Afghanistan.

Status of the Airman

The airman, a native of the city, began his service in February 2019 and is a 2019 graduate of his local high school, per the Associated Press.

He remains under medical supervision and is “fighting for his life”, the state’s governor the governor stated on a news program.

The state’s top lawyer Bondi informed Fox News Sunday that she also intended to visit his relatives.

Memory of the Fallen Soldier

Sarah, from Summersville, graduated from Webster County high school in June 2023 and enlisted soon after, serving as a military police officer with excellence, as stated by the West Virginia National Guard.

“She had a lot of kindness and she definitely had fortitude,” the governor told the crowd at the memorial. “Though her life ended too soon, she has made an impact that’s going to be remembered always.”
